  1. Wow ... what an interesting collection. When did you start collecting this stuff ? What made you interested in it !? I particularly like ... back in another comment ... where you said you like nuns having fun. That is quite a specific thing you like to collect !!

  2. I have toys like the "nunzilla", a nun that breaths fire and quite a few books regarding nuns. One of my favorite books (and I have this years calender) is "Nuns having fun!". They are filled with classic black and white photos of nuns from the 20's and so on doing things such as water skiing in their habits.

It is a guilty pleasure that I have had for some time now.

I don't know if you remember but my dad was the chaplain on the Rota base. With his knowledge and curious nature I tried on a few religious (if you will) in my life time. I have been fascinated with religions of all kinds for sometime. To me the Russian Orthodox are by far the most interesting.

I also have crucifixes from Russia, Mexico, etc and to me they are really neat. My favorite one has this peep hole in the middle of the cross to look into and there is the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe. The Mexican culture fascinates me thus the influence of Día de los Muertos in my art work.

  3. I do remember your Dad being the chaplain.

What is it you find fascinating about the Russian Orthodox ?

  4. I love the art, it is rather powerful and exquisite. They have such strong faith in their beliefs. I just find it as a whole rather impressive.
